Daily Energy Routine - Powerful & Effective

This blog post covers the importance of a daily routine, steps to create your own routine and a sample routine. Including a bonus youtube video to my daily energy routine. Enjoy Loves!

A daily routine may seem like something small, but it's powerful. And did you know that a daily routine can improve your overall mental and physical health?

A study published in 2019 by the National Library of Medicine and reported by Northwestern Medicine, adding a daily routine can lead to less stress, better sleep, eating healthier and making you more active. Why? Because having a plan will result with you having more control in your daily life.

How should you structure your daily energy routine?

The most effective daily routines include daily movement, an energy routine, intention setting for the day, and hydrating.

The key is to start out small. Working in 1 item for several weeks and building upon it. When I first began my energy routine, I struggled to keep a daily routine. However, I was committed. So after a few attempts and lessons learned, i was able to keep a daily 15-minute routine. Then I added in 15 minutes of energy and so on.

Another way to think of your daily routine is as self-care. So doing anything that helps fill your cup in a positive way, can be part of your daily routine. If you’re looking to do something more unscripted you can also start out with 15 minutes of dancing or singing or both. It has both movement and breathwork, so energy healer approved. :)

Maintaining overall health takes time and you may fall out of routine, don’t panic it’s totally normal, you are human, so give yourself some grace. It's like Aesop's Fable with the tortoise and the hare, take your time, be humble, and win your wellness race. And if you notice that you have fallen off your daily routine, just see this as an opportunity to get back on. No harm done.

After a week or two assess your daily routine. Is this working for me? If your daily routine is too hard or too long, it may not be sustainable. My daily routine was only 30 minutes a day for at least 3- months before it became an hour long.

Next, identify your daily routine goals for the next few weeks and find a time that works for you. You can also split your daily routine to 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening. I'm the most energized in the morning, so I do mine at 6am, however, my husband is more energized in the evening so he completes his later in the afternoon or evenings. The key is to find a time that works best for you.

Sample Daily Routine (20 minutes):

  1. Drink 12 oz of water (room temperature for hydration)

  2. 15 minutes of yoga or daily energy routine

  3. 3 minutes of deep breathing or meditation

  4. Intention setting for the day

  5. Drink a cup of hot tea (tea contains amino acid which has a soothing and relaxing effect on the mind. There was one study that found drinking black tea daily helped bring down cortisol levels in stressed patients by as much as 53%.)

Having a daily routine is a great way to kick off your wellness plan and the greatest part is, you can take it to the time and practices that work for you. You'll hear me say this a lot, so get ready. It's not one size fits all, it's one size fits one.

I'm excited for you to embark on this wellness journey! And please message me if you have questions. I'm here to help if you need me.

With love,

Jeri
