My Spiritual Journey
My Spiritual Awakening
Through all my energy healing training, I was both jolted and slowly awakened to my spiritual path. I learned how to lift my maya, which in yoga means illusion. I learned how to live in my true state, in my truth.
* Maya is often described as a veil or illusion that hides the underlying unity and oneness of the universe, making it appear as a world of separate entities and experiences.
This is a major principle in yoga: finding your truth and looking past the illusion that society will create for you. Shedding the ego or layers of ourselves that protect us from the world. Many of us, including myself, have had to build walls to protect ourselves from judgment, persecution, bullying, misunderstandings, labeling, and the list goes on. To be me felt impossible. The judgement I might feel for being free, or the misunderstandings as people might see me as “against the grain” or “not having any common sense”. I worried too often about what others thought and based my life on how to fit into society.
My maya was that I wasn’t free to be me.
The Ego, The Destruction, And Redefining
The ego are the roles that we play in our daily lives to survive. These roles are often assigned to us and predetermined by society, family, government, spiritual beliefs, educational systems, movies, etc. We take on these identities to fulfill those roles for people in our lives, like mother, sister, job title, spiritual belief, political beliefs, etc.
In yoga, there’s this concept of destroying your ego and transcending the sense of self through self-reflection, cultivating detachment from the ego, and coming to the ultimate state of oneness and freedom from self-identification. Realizing that we are all spiritual beings. It doesn’t matter what we believe in or who we vote for; those are just distractions that keep us from seeing the truth. We are energy, the soul, the light, the spirit, the Chi, the Ki, the Prana, whatever you call it. It exists. Within us, within everything.
In my experience, we cannot live entirely without the ego, but we can redefine it. This is by far the most fun and creative part of the process. You get to get creative with your own life. How do I see myself and the roles I play? Sister, Daughter, Mother, Wife, Energy Healer, Earth Lover, Spiritual Being, etc. I first list out my roles, then redefine them one by one to fit what I think they should be.
Creating the Magic
I began to see myself in my true state, connected to everything. For example, I saw food differently and understood its impact on my hormones. I understood that some choices could impact my mood or create disease. Too much of the digital world would unground me, making it harder for me to release or process my emotions properly. I found the secret sauce to my life.
Then, I explored what other energies can affect me, like the sun. Being exposed to the sun has a multitude of health benefits, including Vitamin D, improving mood, reducing blood pressure, and increasing serotonin levels. It has also been linked to lower rates of depression and anxiety. Then, learning and interacting with the chakras or meridians, everything around me was magic. I felt so empowered, and I had control over my own life.
Physics
Physics was also a huge help in flipping my perspective. Let me preface this by telling you I am not an expert. This is just what I’ve learned.
For a while now, physics has been proposing lots of new theories, like black holes, wormholes, and other crazy things that would once have been considered pseudoscience but are being proven every day.
We are not merely physical beings; we are energy, too. Albert Einstein proved this with his famous equation E=MC^2 (Energy = Mass times velocity squared – therefore, energy equals mass). You cannot have a physical body without an energetic print or signature.
Google it: humans are electromagnetic; their cells generate energy, and your neurological impulses are electrical energy; your hormones are chemical, and when you move your body, you make kinetic energy. Everything around you is made up of energy, including you. So, no matter what you call it, Spirit, Soul, Chi, Ki, Prana, Light, Wise One Within (WOW), whatever you identify with, know that it does exist.
Are You Ready to Begin Your Soul’s Journey?
One last thing. Now that you’ve explored the concept of a soul’s path don’t be surprised if the Universe starts showing you signs of your path. You know, the little synchronicities, coincidences, things that make you think. Huh, was that a sign? And yes, that was a sign from the Universe, so take note and follow your path.
If you’re interested in working with me to find your soul’s path, please book an appointment with me or purchase my Know Your Hormones or Anxiety program from my Etsy page.
